Feminine energy to me is about our emotional body, and our sensory experience. Being able to be in the human space together while not pushing a logical outcome. To allow emergence in the flow of what is coming through rather than needing to control through rational thought. 

Embracing and reconnecting with our feminine energy can bring balance and harmony to various aspects of our lives, from the workplace to our relationships.

As Marianne Williamson once said, “Feminine power is about life-giving, transforming energy. It is about nurturing the self and others, healing wounds, creating beauty, and empowering others to find their own inner strength.”

By tapping into our feminine energy, we can unlock our full potential, find our own inner strength, and live a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Differences Between Feminine and Masculine Energy

Feminine and masculine energies represent different qualities and characteristics that exist within all of us human beings, regardless of gender.

The corporate paradigm and wider education system has very much edged a lot of our feminine energy out, in favour of a more logical, rational,  and controlled state of activation – to do things rather than to be in things.

In turn, reconnecting with your feminine energy requires us to push through our own self-limiting, masculine constructs – for many of us, the conditioning is deeply embedded.

Here are some key differences between the masculine and feminine energy:

  • Feminine energy is associated with qualities such as intuition, empathy, nurturing, and creativity. It is more passive and receptive in nature, focusing on connection and understanding.
  • Masculine energy, on the other hand, is associated with assertiveness, logical thinking, and goal-oriented behavior. It is more active and outwardly focused, aiming for achievement and success.
  • Both energies have their strengths and weaknesses. Feminine energy excels in creating harmony, fostering deep relationships, and embracing emotions. Masculine energy, on the other hand, is effective in problem-solving, taking action, and achieving goals.

10 Ways to Embrace and Reconnect with Your Feminine Energy

Below, you’ll find ten different activities. Each activity is a “way to connect” in yourself. By regularly exploring these different activities, you’ll also be greatly improving your ability to make space for your relationship with yourself.

1. Silent Sitting

Silent sitting is a powerful practice.

By taking a few moments of uninterrupted silence, you can tap into your inner wisdom and enjoy the peace and stillness within. This practice promotes mindfulness and self-awareness, and can help you to connect with your emotions and intuition on a deeper level.

It provides a much-needed break from the noise and distractions of everyday life, creating space to recharge and find clarity. Silent sitting is an opportunity to let go of external influences and simply be present in the moment, engaging the divine feminine energy that resides within.

Allow yourself the time and space to be in ‘nothingness.’ This is where your deep connection to your inner essence will be strengthened. The busy chatter of our monkey minds can try to butt in and distract us! And the thoughts will continue to float on through.

The key here is to be the observer rather than get caught up in our thoughts. This will give us some distance from needing to analyse our circumstances – which enables our inner wisdom to be heard.

2. Listen to the Whispers of Your Soul

By quieting the noise of the outside world and tuning in to your inner voice, you can tap into your intuition and receive guidance from within. 

In this state of ‘being’, trusting the subtle whispers that come through in those little emotions and intuitive nudges, enable you to make choices that align with your true desires and purpose. Accept the wisdom that lies beyond intellectual reasoning and let your soul guide you.

Keep in mind that this is not something that must be done in the quiet, or when you’re alone! 

This is actually a powerful activity to practice when you’re in the midst of change or chaos, or daily life in general! When you notice moments in which you’ve done a double take on what someone has said, or when you feel an uncomfortable emotion in yourself, don’t dismiss your gut feeling!

Honour these moments and listen to them – they’re your feminine energy communicating with you and wanting to get an important message to you! Instead, take a moment to intuitively enquire about what’s going on.

3. Trust the process

Trusting the process involves letting go of control and surrendering to the flow of life, holding faith that everything is unfolding exactly as it should.

Be patient and kind to yourself as you make sense of what your whispers are trying to tell you.

The masculine energy is all about sorting things out and getting on with it. That one plus one equals two. While, this is very helpful for certain situations, our feminine energy is also equally important at times too. This is where we need to be patient in waiting for the inner prompts to make sense.

Allow yourself to lovingly accept uncertainty and rely on the universe and its plan for your experience.

If you’re feeling self-conscious about this, feel free to place yourself in a supportive, safe environment and start small! Even if that means taking time to be alone with yourself first.

6. Go out in nature

Spending time in nature is a wonderful way to reconnect with your feminine energy. Take some time away to move your body in nature; a walk in the park, a hike, or simply sit by a river and let the beauty of the natural world nourish your soul.

Allow yourself to be present in the moment and let the calming and grounding energy of nature restore your inner balance: listen to the birds, feel the warmth of the sun or the breeze on your skin, feel the grass under your feet, observe the trees and the plants and feel into their living nature.

Everything is in its perfection of nature’s cycles and rhythms and flow – the small things and the big things.

Here’s a easy method you can use if you haven’t attempted meditation before:

Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and take deep breaths. Visualise a warm, pink light enveloping you, symbolising your feminine energy.

You can repeat affirmations that support your authentic desire, like “I welcome my femininity” or “I am connected to my divine essence.”

Allow yourself to feel and notice the sensations and emotions that arise, and let them flow through you, releasing any tension or resistance.

Being mindful is key to the practice, and is especially helpful when applied regularly!

Note that this also applies to (and actually starts with)your relationship with your authentic self! Let yourself feel worthy and deserving as you move through the world. You are more than just what you can do.. You are a miracle! 

You are a creative force whose unique existence extends beyond a mere combination of the two energies. Activate self-kindness and loving intention, and do things that make you feel in alignment. 

You in your unique, unconditionally loving essence is what our world needs. 

You, being fully self-expressed from love, contribute your unique gifts to our shared humanity.

10. Embracing Balance

Embracing balance is vital. It involves finding harmony in all aspects of your life, and in many ways can be a culmination of some of the activities we’ve already discussed!

Here are some practical ways to maintain balance:

  1. Prioritise self-care: Take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Set aside time for relaxation, exercise, and activities that bring you joy. Find moments in your daily life. It could be as simple as enjoying waiting for the kettle to boil when you are making a cup of tea. through to noticing the birds flying in the sky. ‘Little,’ or ‘big’ moments are an illusion – every moment is equally significant and holds the same potential for joy and inspiration.

  2. Establish boundaries: Set limits on your time and energy. This allows you to focus on what truly matters to you and avoid overwhelm. Sometimes saying ‘no’ is as important as saying ‘yes.’ There can be many gifts for all in the authenticity of the moment shared.

  3. Practice mindfulness: Stay present in the moment and cultivate awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and sensations. This helps you make conscious choices and avoid getting caught up in the busyness of life. This sense of observation in our lives can be freeing and open up new possibilities.

  4. Create a nourishing environment: Surround yourself with beauty and serenity. Declutter your space, bring in elements of nature, and create a sanctuary that supports your well-being and helps you connect with your feminine energy.

  5. Cultivate gratitude: Foster an attitude of gratitude for the blessings in your life. Regularly take time to reflect on what you appreciate and express your gratitude to others. Bring this practice into a daily routine moment. For me, I practice my gratitude in the shower – I consciously say and feel into those in my life I am grateful for (including my own mission and life). This doesn’t take any ‘extra’ time in my day and it helps me connect into the bigger picture of what really matters to me.

  6. Connect with your intuition: Trust your inner guidance. This allows you to make decisions that align with your authentic self and bring you closer to your goals. As we practice this, we learn to be open to what is emerging, expanding on the limitations of what we logically understand. This is key to opening up avenues and opportunities that are divinely guided in ways that we couldn’t possibly imagine solely through our rational minds. It’s those amazing experiences where we go, ‘Wow, you wouldn’t believe what happened…’

  7. Work-life balance: Strive for a balance between professional pursuits and personal fulfilment. Balance is about feeling in balance within yourself.  Work out what works for you – each one of us will have our own natural rhythms. Go with your own flow. Create time for hobbies and relationships, and prioritise self-care even in the midst of a busy schedule.

  8. Listen to your body: If you are feeling any niggles in your physical body, ask yourself, “What are you trying to tell yourself?” Louise Hay was a pioneer in this work exploring how our thoughts and emotions manifest in our physical body. Gabor Maté is also exploring this through the lens of stress and trauma. There is deep insight in exploring the clues showing up in our physical selves.

  9. Seek support: Surround yourself with a supportive network of friends, family, or a community that uplifts and encourages you. Lean on others when needed, and offer support in return.
